Position Title:Data Center Engineer (Infrastructure/Cloud)

Position Location:This position is onsite in Annapolis Junction, MD.

Description: We are seeking a career level engineer to provide infrastructure engineering for data center, compute, storage, network, Unified Communications, and remote site servers. The Department of the Navy (DON) requires services to operate, consolidate, modernize, innovate/optimize, and defend the Special Access Program (SAP) Information Technology (IT) portfolio supporting both hardware and software. The goal of this program is to improve IT processes, procedures, practices, support, and maximize readiness by delivering the best possible product and services to support user requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Design, deliver, and optimize Virtual Infrastructure Services to improve security, availability, performance, and resource utilization.
• Review current virtual infrastructures, architectures, designs, and operations to identify potential improvements.
• Analyze, refine, and document the requirements for transition from legacy architectures into modern virtualized infrastructure environment.
• Design virtual Infrastructure services to maximize available capacity of physical compute, storage, and network hardware resources.
• Document security, configuration, and performance benchmarks of Virtual Infrastructure Services

Qualifications:

• Proven expertise in the VMware suite of cloud computing and virtualization technology
• Must have a current DoD 8570.1-M IAT Level II certification (i.e., Security+ CE)
• Professional-level VMware certifications desired.
• ITIL Foundations certification desired

Required Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's (or equivalent) with 5-7 yrs of experience, or a Master's and 3-5 yrs of experience.
• Career level with a complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts. Working under only general direction, provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions.

Required Clearance:

• Must possess an active TSI clearance with SCI eligibility.
