Job Description

Position Overview:

Perform therapeutic massages of soft tissues and joints. The massage or body treatment provided is for the basic purpose of relaxation and relief of muscle tension.

Essential Functions:

  • Massage and knead muscles and soft tissues of the body.
  • Confer with clients about their medical histories and problems with stress or pain to determine how massage will be most helpful.
  • Apply finger and hand pressure to specific points of the body.
  • Assess clients’ soft tissue condition.
  • Provide clients with guidance and information about techniques for postural improvement and stretching, strengthening, relaxation and rehabilitative exercises.
  • Assists all guests in a sincere and courteous manner.
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of all hotel safety and security procedures required to maintain a secure and safe environment for employees and guests.
  • Keeps immediate superior promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance coming to his/her attention so prompt corrective action can be taken when appropriate.
  • Answers phone at Darling Reflections Spa front desk according to established procedures.
  • Attends department meetings.
  • Knows all safety and emergency procedures.  Is aware of accident prevention policies.
  • Maintains the cleanliness and neatness of Darling Reflection Spa and front desk area.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Other:

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.  In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meeting is required.

Upon employment, all employees are required to full comply with Regency Hotel Management rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the hotel’s facilities.  Employees who violate hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

Qualifications:

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills and abilities.

Education:       High School Diploma or GED required.

Massage Therapist Certification.

Experience:     One year massage therapist experience preferred
 

  • Must project a neat, clean professional appearance.
  • Must be self-motivated.
  • Must be committed to the highest standards of hospitality and express a sincere interest in the needs and comfort of guests.
  • Must be extroverted, sales oriented and able to consistently project a positive attitude and pleasant personality.
  • Should be willing to assist others and be able to work as a team member toward common goals of the hotel.
  • Must be a bright, alert individual who is able to assume responsibility and exercise sound judgment.
  • Should be able to perform multiple activities with speed and accuracy and adapt easily to fast paced, changing conditions.
  • Should be detail-oriented and follow through.
  • Should be a flexible person and possess an even temperament.
  • Must be honest and able to handle cash responsibilities.
  • Must be a dependable person who is able to work a flexible schedule.
  • Must be articulate and able to communicate effectively with others.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours.
  • Requires walking to and from various areas within the department as well as other departments throughout the building.
  • Requires bending down and picking up supplies.  Able to lift 35 lbs. occasionally.
