Vara Chevrolet is located off of IH-35 South near South Park Mall.
The Porter/Janitor helps ensure complete customer satisfaction by moving vehicles in and around the service area/lot, maintaining the cleanliness of vehicles and the service area, delivering vehicles to customers after service is complete, and transporting customers to/from their home when needed. We are looking for a reliable person to maintain a clean and safe work environment - responsible for cleaning and sanitizing the customer areas, bathrooms, and service shop. This position is a great entry level job where you can learn about the automotive industry, gain mechanical skills, and move to other departments.
Qualifications
- Positive attitude, can-do mentality and eager to improve
- Previous janitorial and/or maintenance experience a plus
- Previous porter experience a plus
- Diligent work ethic and dedicated approach to performing duties
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to walk, run, stoop, climb, and carry heavy items
Responsibilities
- Keep entire department in clean and orderly condition
- Perform any combination of the following duties: sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming hallways, stairs, and office spaces
- Use machinery to clean showroom floor, dust entire facility, and maintain multiple bathrooms and kitchen
- Empty trash and garbage containers
- Maintain minor and routine painting, electrical and other maintenance activities using hand tools
- Move and park vehicles
- Drive the shuttle van
- Other duties as assigned
- Professional appearance; no visible tattoos or piercings
