Hotel Hartness is actively searching for professional, friendly, and fast-paced Banquet Captain to join our Food and Beverage team.

Both part and full time positions available.

Job Summary:

  • Effectivelymonitor the daily operations of the Banquet Department, including providing supportand guidance to fellow banquet personnel to ensure a successful and effectiveoperation ending in a positive guest experience.
Essential Functions:
  • Reviewall written communication, i.e., resumes, daily/weekly, Banquet Event Orders todetermine appropriate staffing levels, room/station assignments, buffet décorand enhancements as they relate to banquets and meeting room set-ups. Communicate all changes within the BanquetDepartment and makes adjustments according to the above items. Communicate information to the kitchen andother supportive departments prior to and during events.
  • Checkall room sets prior to each event. Meetwith the Banquet Chef to confirm quantities of food items and timing of foodleaving the kitchen and proper display ware. Check all china, glassware, silverware, and linen items needed for theevent. Inform staff of specific needsfor buffets and receptions. Checkstaffing needs for upcoming events. Check inventory needs for all upcoming events.
  • Sees that all scheduled functions takeplace on time and according toplan. All rooms are to be ready 15 minutes before time on BEO.
  • Supervises clearing and post functioncleanup. Check servers out, making sure that function rooms, aisle andstorage areas are clean, and equipment is cleaned and stored properly. Assures that trash is placed in the dumpster.
