Remote - Patient Account Representative

Pride Health is hiring a Patient Account Representative for one of its clients in Rochester, Minnesota.

This is a 12-month contract with a possible extension with competitive pay and benefits. This is a Remote Role.

• Location – Rochester, Minnesota – 55902 (Remote)
• Length of assignment - 12 months
• Shift - Monday-Friday 8 am-5 pm Central Time.

Job Summary

Institutional Insurance and reimbursement expert for one or more of the following business lines: durable medical equipment. Performs all aspects of the billing and collection processes for the individual business lines across the enterprise.

Job Duties

• Performs all aspects of the billing and collection processes for the individual business lines across the enterprise.
• These processes include service pre-certification, insurance coverage review, personal responsibility determination, patient communications, claim submissions, denial review, rebilling, appeals, and accounts receivable management.
• Utilizes skills in problem-solving, customer service, and communications (verbal and written) in interactions with patients and internal customers to resolve a variety of account, billing, and payment issues for patients, physicians, nurses, pharmacists, technicians, and social workers.
• Interprets, applies, and communicates Clinic policies regarding financial aspects of patient care to assure optimal reimbursement for both the patient and the Clinic.

Requirements

• Qualifications and Experience:
• Associate degree in finance, business, or healthcare-related majors and one year experience in medical, pharmacy, or durable medical equipment billing and collection activities Knowledge of routine rodent handling/restraint and technical procedures.
• Or high school diploma/GED with at least 3 years’ experience in medical, or durable medical equipment billing and collection activities.
• Durable medical equipment (DME) experience preferred, including billing.
• Abilities:
• The candidate must possess strong human relations, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills to interact with a variety of customers and personnel, both within and outside the institution.
• Candidate must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
• Candidate should have experience working with Windows-based software, Microsoft Word, Excel, and the Internet.
• Keyboarding experience is required. Claims management software experience desired.
