We are currently looking for a Night Shift Process Technician The person in this position is to perform equipment set-up and start-up of various injection molding machines, operate all molding machines and mold quality parts to customer specifications, meet customer demand while maintaining cost standards and parts per hour. Moreover, troubleshooting processes and robotic programs.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Is familiar with the company’s Quality Management System, including the Quality Policy and Quality Objectives and the impact the employee has on meeting the objectives. (Reference the Quality Manual, and the Quality Policy, Quality Objectives and Measurements)
  • Must have the ability to set up and tear down molds from Machines
  • Load processes into the Machine, start up and shut down
  • Machine Operator skills such as inspect parts per customer requirements, trim parts as needed and package as required
  • Knowledge of plastic processing and injection molds
  • Operates secondary equipment such as ultrasonic welder and CNC machine
  • Keep Injection Molding machines and auxiliary equipment running in a safe, productive, quality-the-first-time, and efficient manner
  • Ensure that production activities are carried out in accordance with approved procedures and all production is dispositioned and approved as required prior to further processing
  • Ensure safe working practices are followed and all accidents, hazards, near misses, and property damage are reported in the required time
  • Assist and provide training to the mold set-up technicians
  • Operate crane to replace molds
  • Operate forklift to transport molds
  • Remain current on forklift and crane training and certification as required by supervisor, manager, and/or Igloo Safety
  • Complete required paperwork
  • Responsible for mold change and machine adjustments
  • Conduct minor repairs and change inserts
  • Primary responsibility for the monitoring and control of assigned process
  • Primary responsibility from the seeking of solutions for technical problems associated with assigned processes
  • Interface between Methods, Tooling, Maintenance, Warehouse, and Quality Control related to assigned processes
  • Verification of tooling, instructions, and materials prior to use on assigned processes
  • Promote Safety and Quality and Environmental awareness
  • Ensure that safety and quality requirements are fulfilled
  • Perform process verification prior to job commencement
  • Obtaining approved disposition for non-conformances prior to process continuation
  • Ensure work area(s) are maintained in a clean and organized manner
  • Ensure that scrap is minimized through process enhancements
  • Stop the production of non-conforming product as recommended by management
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed to meet Company objectives

Skills and Qualifications

  • 3-5 years previous plastic injection molding experience and/or training preferred
  • 2 or more years Process Technician experience in plastic injection molding manufacturing
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience working with machines.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience with the following large tonnage Plastic Injection Molding machines
  • Ability to apply and carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Computer usage and typing skills are essential
  • Continuous standing, walking, stretching, reaching, bending, and stooping required
  • Ability to continuously lift and/or move up to 10lbs; occasionally lift and/or move up to 75lbs
  • Be able to deal with a fast-paced environment
  • Have Material Handling Knowledge and a strong motivation to learn
  • Display mechanical aptitude
  • Have knowledge of robotic operations and setup
