This is a pro shop assistant position (full and part-time) with a small company managed by a cohesive team of professionals that is looking to increase our capability. This position earns a competitive wage of $15.00 to $16.50/hourly, depending on experience. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PRO SHOP ASSISTANT

Responsible for providing first contact customer interaction, including opening and closing of Pro Shop, Toptracer driving range bays, booking tee times, checking in golfers and customers through the point of sale, selling merchandise, cleaning and stocking the Pro Shop and assisting in ordering supplies. The Pro Shop Assistant will also be assigned specific, often varying tasks on a day-to-day basis by the General Manager and should also be able to adapt to meet changing demands and requirements while in the workplace.


Role Accountabilities & Expectations:

  • Provide friendly, courteous service to all customers in a manner that guarantees Greet customers, provide prompt, courteous and friendly customer service.
  • Manage reservation system, check-in customers, collect fees and assign tee times and Toptracer driving range bays.
  • Ensure Toptracer driving range bays are clean and ready for customers.
  • Inform players of course rules and regulations.
  • Sale of merchandise, maintain inventory records and accurately reconcile cash register sales with daily sales reports.
  • Assist in coordinating and providing assistance in tournaments and events.
  • Assist customers with all their needs while in the pro shop, ensure inquiries and requests are met efficiently and professionally, ensure complaints are dealt with in a pleasant manner and report to the Manager.
  • Maintain the pro shop environment by keeping the shop neat and orderly by general housekeeping duties.
  • Accept orders/shipments and stock shelves/racks.
  • Answer phones, direct calls and answer customers' questions professionally.
  • Regular attendance is an essential function of this job to ensure continuity.
  • May be required to work early mornings, evenings, holidays and weekends as needed.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned or determined by Management.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A PRO SHOP ASSISTANT

  • High school degree or GED preferred.
  • Six (6) to 12 months customer service and cashiering experience in a hospitality business (preferred).
  • Good reading, writing, mathematical and communication skills.
  • Able to interact professionally with other departments and outside contacts.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of golf course equipment and goods.
  • Good judgement and decision-making abilities.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Must remain in compliance with drug-free workplace policies.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (as required by OSHA and ADA)

  • Ability to work weekends, holidays and evening hours as business demands.
  • Must be able to spend 100% of working time standing, walking and reaching.
  • Pushing, pulling and lifting objects from a lower to higher position or moving objects horizontally, from position to position.
  • Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling while walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces.
  • Climbing and ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps.
  • Must be able to carry loads greater than 15 pounds and exert up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently.
  • Hearing sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
  • Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
