Job Description

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for successfully executing the strategy, sales process, long-term planning, and sales metrics. This role manages the sales team as they secure new and retain existing customers in a defined sales territory.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead the development and deployment of a comprehensive sales strategy and long-term plans which integrates the business’ values, mission, and resources

In partnership with the VP of Sales, create annual sales goals and budget for department that align with organization’s financial and operational objectives

Develop incentive plans for sales team and customers

Own and communicate the metrics that indicate inventory levels, turnover and equipment margins within the sales team

Implement a customer relationship process that will achieve and maintain dealership loyalty.

Monitor competitive activity, products and customer trends

Review sales management information for all customers in the assigned territory

Maintain current product knowledge and competitive advantages of all equipment offerings

Maintain current knowledge of financing options to assist customers with purchasing

Attends applicable sales training events/seminars

KEY QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

3+ years’ experience in sales with comprehensive understanding of Ag equipment dealer operations, business systems, and sales support tools.

One year of prior management experience or demonstrated willingness and ability to learn management techniques

Strong analytical and data-driven mindset, with experience in utilizing metrics and KPIs to measure marketing performance and inform decision-making.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively influence and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

Experience developing and coaching sales professionals on selling techniques and sales processes

Successful experience leading others

Experience with John Deere and competitive products preferred.

Experience using John Deere sales computer applications and tools, preferred.

Experience with software applications such as Microsoft Office.

Experience with utilizing John Deere systems preferred.

Experience working in a fast-paced team environment

Knowledge of basic computer applications, Microsoft programs as well as scheduling applications

Basic machinery and vehicle capability knowledge

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in business administration or marketing strongly preferred
