DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Ascertains problems and services by listening to customer's description of symptoms; clarifying description of problems; conducting inspections; taking test drives; checking boat maintenance records; examining service schedules.

2. Verifies warranty and service contract coverage by examining records and papers; explaining provisions and exclusions.

3. Develops estimates by costing materials, supplies, and labor; calculating customer's payment, including deductibles.

4. Prepares repair orders (RO) by describing symptoms, problems, and causes discovered, as well as repairs and services required; obtaining approval signatures; entering RO into service database system.

5. Maintains customer rapport by explaining estimates and expected return of vehicle; obtaining customer's approval of estimates; obtaining and providing contact telephone numbers; answering questions and concerns; arranging towing and temporary transportation.

6. Maintains automotive records by recording problems and corrective actions planned.

7. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading manufacturers' publications.

8. Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

9. Assume other duties and responsibilities required or assigned by management.

OPERATING RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work performed and composed of a variety of different tasks, calling for use of judgment and compliance with policies and procedures. Must be a self-starter and able to work independently. Must be willing and able to take detailed notes so the technician understands the issues with the vessel.

Requires excellent interpersonal skills and computer literacy. Manages multiple, varied platform skill projects simultaneously, and may be interrupted frequently to meet the needs and requests of service employees and guests.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

1. Bachelor’s Degree preferred

2. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;

3. Ability work independently to achieve goals and targets;

4. Ability to organize and prioritize work;

5. Ability to work in a team environment to achieve team, department and corporate goals;

6. Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external customers;

7. Adaptable to a fast-paced environment;

8. Self-starter;

9. Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
