Overview

The Instructional Designer is responsible for assessing, designing, developing, and evaluating high visibility blended learning curricula, learning courses and performance support tools across the bank with a focus on role-based learning materials, resources, and programs. This role will also support engagement, promote individual growth and development, and drive organization development in alignment with strategic initiatives through skill-based and professional development programs.


Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement engaging and scalable training content across various modalities, including, but not limited to e-learning, instructor-led and performance support tools with an emphasis on technical/systems documentation.
  • Perform in-depth needs analysis to uncover learner and organizational needs, identify performance gaps and changes in work processes, procedures and technologies.
  • Conduct instructional design reviews with internal clients focused on understanding the client's needs and recommending solutions for role-based training initiatives.
  • Develop relationships and knowledge of clients and teammates to further enhance the project and program development.
  • Develop instructional materials, such as scripts, assessments, job aids, and participant guides, that align with learning objectives and best practices in adult learning theory.
  • Utilize instructional design principles, multimedia tools, and learning technologies to create effective learning solutions.
  • Plan, manage, and facilitate learning sessions in a physical classroom, virtual setting, hybrid, or eLearning approach.
  • Develop and maintain organizational communications to ensure employees have knowledge of development events and resources.
  • Analyze and evaluate training effectiveness through surveys and initiating feedback; makes recommendations for revisions and enhancements.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and regulatory requirements.
  • Interact with internal and external clients while providing extraordinary service.
  • Develop and maintain trusted, positive relationships with employees, clients, and vendors.
  • Represent the Bank and Human Resources team in a highly professional manner.
  • Complete job assignments in a professional, timely and efficient manner; organize and prioritize work.
  • Maintain confidentiality; adhere to CrossFirst Bank policies and procedures; comply with laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Reliable and predictable attendance; both onsite and remote.

Qualifications

  • Three years' experience as an instructional designer is preferred.
  • Three years' experience and proficiency using e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline is preferred.
  • Prefer three years' experience using graphics programs to create supporting graphics, photos, screen captures to illustrate learning points.
  • Experience in conducting needs analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage instructional design projects.
  • Excellent facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing effective training programs for employees at different experience and management levels.
  • Highly proficient project and time management skills with the ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Build relationships, effectively promote ideas and influence behaviors through strong collaboration in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience applying learning theory to business environment and practices that are blended in approach and engaging for the learner.
  • Experience with adult learning principles and training methods.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience developing strong relationships and partnerships with senior business partners and leaders at varying levels of an organization.
  • Proven ability to maintain confidential information and appropriately and consistently exercise discretion.
  • Experience in using HR, talent and learning management systems.
  • Proficient technical skills Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, Organizational Development, or a combination of education and work experience.
