Description

The primary focus of the Logistics Compliance Specialist is to ensure that all of our customer's freight pick-ups and deliveries are scheduled and executed without issue at a reasonable cost. In addition, this role provides on-site coordination and oversight of all domestic air and ground shipments from both direct customer and local gateway. This includes importing and exporting shipments along with document preparation, booking, and coordination of customs clearance.

This position will work a hybrid schedule both remote and in-office Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00 pm EST with a 30-minute lunch for a total of 40 hours per week. Some weekends are required on a rotating scheduled on call remotely.

Responsibilities
  • Publishing and distributing daily summary reports to key stakeholders which communicate potential issues
  • Tracking freight movements across multiple transportation segments
  • Implementing transportation coverage, identifying distressed shipments throughout Purolator's routing network and escalating as necessary
  • Working with operations and customer service on current issues to ensure best possible outcomes
  • Maintenance of in-house Transportation Management System (TMS) system
  • Developing and building relationships with new and existing transportation partners
  • Follow-up with transportation partners about service failures to develop countermeasure

Experience

  • 3+ years' experience working in operations setting in transportation & logistics company
  • Microsoft Outlook experience a must
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and/or proven ability to navigate multiple carrier websites
  • Ability to handle multiple issues, adjust priorities and achieve the most cost-effective solution while meeting the customer service expectations

  • Freight forwarding or dispatching experience is a plus
  • Pre-existing carrier relationship management
  • Some hands-on experience in import/export procedures
  • Your Microsoft Excel experience includes v-lookup, pivots tables and data manipulation
