PAY RATE:$17-$25/hour

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Maintains and repairs buses, pickup trucks, over-snow vehicles (groomers, snow mobiles, maintenance vehicles, snow cat/ambulance). Writes own work orders, may order parts for repair. Repairs heavy equipment, completes periodic maintenance on machinery including oil changes, service checkups. May weld machinery parts; may be required to assist other departments such as lift maintenance or building maintenance as needed. Strong welding and fabricating skills required.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

SKILLS:Advanced mechanical, welding and fabrication skills. Welding certification is a plus.

EDUCATION: English reading, writing, and communication; high school diploma. Vocational schooling preferred.

EXPERIENCE:1 year minimum

LICENSE NEEDED: Valid driver's license insurable by New Schweitzer, LLC.

Must have own tools.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Required to complete paperwork for up to ½ hour per day, work up to 7.5 hours of combined standing/walking duties. Will lift 10lbs continuously, up to 75lbs occasionally, and up to 100lbs twice weekly. Assistance is available. Will bend, squat, kneel, climb, twist, and reach above shoulder level frequently, will slide under equipment on a creeper. Will use hands for simple grasping, push/pulling and fine manipulation. Pushing/pulling up to 75lbs. 70% inside and 30% outside, shop is heated. Exposed to all temperature levels, fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases and poor ventilation at times. Hazards are mechanical, electrical, burns, chemicals used in cleaning. Personal Protective Equipment will be provided for specific jobs. All sensory skills needed.

MACHINES/TOOLS OPERATED: Air wrenches, hoists, welding equipment, grinders, solvent tanks, groomers, snow vehicles and all mechanic hand tools.

JUDGMENT/MENTAL COMPLEXITY: HIGH- safety and detail work, under deadlines, very important to organize time.
