Principle Responsibilities

● Effectively manage the department and its assets including inventory and cleanliness

● Assist direct supervisor for team application review, interview, and hiring process

● Establish and set-up seasonal office and base camp head quarters

● Plan and organize team schedules while monitoring work hours and off time requests

● Ensure the safe use of vehicles and equipment used in the department

● Must be able to communicate effectively in person or on a telephone/two-way radio (verbal), in written form (email, IM, text, and word) and in person with staff, peers, guests/customers.

● Oversee arrival and departure days

● Lead staff in basic maintenance and cleanliness of campsites and bathhouses

● Manage the equipment and materials needs of base camp

● Ensure that all health and safety policies are being followed by participants/staff in basecamp

● Oversee the proper waste disposal in campsites

● Other duties or projects as assigned by SBR leadership

● Abide by policies and procedure outlined in the sbr staff handbook

Qualifications & Training

● 18 years of age or older

● Valid U.S. driver's license

● Required 2+ yr. leading teams, prefer 2+ Summit employment

● Excellent organizational skills

● Scouting/camping experience preferred

● Ability to use Microsoft Teams daily for work related communication and coordination

● Be or become a registered member of the Boy Scouts of America

Performance Results

● Attend shift work on a needed basis

● Conduct weekly meetings with team for communication and preparedness

Physical Requirements

● Multiple hours a day of either standing, walking, hiking, and the ability to lift 50 lbs.
