The award-winning Early Childhood Camps (ECC) at the Katz JCC is the perfect place for little campers ages 2.5-5 to build their imagination, creativity, and storytelling. We offer a combination of indoor and outdoor programming, daily swim and free swim time, arts & crafts, cooking, nature, and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) all within weekly themes enhancing a Jewish day camp experience.

We are HIRING for Summer Counselors! Competitive salaries and a membership to the Gym for the length of your contract. The Counselor is a very important part of making the camp day amazing by working closely with the Head Counselor to ensure a great day of summer fun was had by all.

Camp Counselor Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides high-quality educational and recreational opportunities and enjoyable experiences for camp participants.
  • Supervises campers and ensures their safety, development, growth, skill achievement, and general well-being.
  • Maintains a schedule for camp participants lead by the Head Counselor.
  • Helps to support various small and large group activities
  • Ensures the cleanliness of the site using COVID-19 Guidelines and regulations.
  • Assists in maintaining accurate camper records, including incident reports, and daily attendance via our Tadpole Software.
  • Knows and understands all emergency procedures associated with the camp program. (will receive training)
  • Mediates any campers’ disputes with the help of the Head Counselor.
  • Knows, enforces, and follows all safety guidelines associated with the camp program including all the Covid regulations and guidelines, including knowing the whereabouts of your campers at all times.
  • Maintains constant surveillance of the pool at all times.

Camp Counselor Qualifications / Skills:

  • Must be 17 years of age or older
  • Experience in a camp setting a plus
  • Comfortable with indoor and outdoor active environment
  • Strong character values, communication skills, emotional maturity
