Environment Artist
Description:
- We’re seeking an experienced Environment Artist with an eye for detail and a passion for creating stunning photorealistic environments to join our team. In this role, you will use your talents to support our external art teams in the creation of large-scale environments and game-ready assets. You will help review and refine assets to ensure content meets the visual goals of the project. The ideal candidate has a strong artistic background and is a great team collaborator with great communication skills
Responsibilities:
- Create high quality track environments by crafting rich and detailed terrain, vegetation, track surface, materials and more!
- Create, modify and review track assets throughout all stages of production.
- Clearly communicate production challenges to Environment Leadership as appropriate
- Create asset specs and documentation detailing best practices, learnings and challenges.
- Collaborate with internal and external artists to validate art asset delivery and integration.
- Create high quality models, materials, and prototypes as needed.
- Set dress and storytelling of tracks and environments.
Hard Skills:
- A strong visual and technical understanding of 3D modeling, texturing, and level creation
- Strong scene compositional skills to help assist with environment set dressing and storytelling
- Proficiency with 3DSMax and/or equivalent software
- An eagerness to learn and teach new tools and processes
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Experience working with terrain/vegetation/material authoring software such as: Gaea, World Machine, ZBrush, Substance Designer, Speedtree
- A portfolio demonstrating strong modeling, sculpting, material creation and scene composition.
- A passion for art, innovation and technology a plus
- 3+ years of experience with at least 1 shipped title on console or PC
- Degrees or certifications required - BA or BFA in Video Production, Visual Communications, or equivalent experience.

Compensation:
- $40-45/hr (W2/Non-Exempt)
