Job Summary:

The Valet Manager is responsible for overseeing the valet parking operations at the hotel, ensuring efficient and exceptional service for guests and visitors. This role involves managing a team of Valet Attendants, coordinating vehicle parking and retrieval, and maintaining high standards of guest service and satisfaction.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a team of Valet Attendants, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate valet parking services for hotel guests and visitors, ensuring prompt and courteous assistance with vehicle parking and retrieval.
  • Hire, train, and evaluate Valet Attendants, providing ongoing coaching and feedback.
  • Create and maintain team member schedules, ensuring adequate coverage during peak hours and special events.
  • Monitor traffic flow and parking capacity to optimize efficiency and minimize wait times for guests.
  • Safely park guests' vehicles in designated areas, ensuring they are secure and properly positioned.
  • Retrieve guests' vehicles promptly upon request, requiring running between the parking area and hotel entrance to increase response time.
  • Implement standard operating procedures for valet parking operations, including vehicle inspection, key handling, and safety protocols.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the valet parking area, including designated drop-off and pick-up zones.
  • Uphold high standards of guest service and professionalism, greeting guests warmly and assisting with luggage and other requests as needed.
  • Address guest concerns and complaints promptly and effectively, striving to resolve issues to the guest's satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and traffic laws governing valet parking operations, including proper handling of vehicles and adherence to speed limits.
  • Maintain accurate records of parked vehicles, ticketing, and incident reports, documenting any damages, accidents, or other incidents as required.
  • Conduct regular inspections of parking equipment and facilities to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards, and coordinate repairs as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of valet parking transactions, including vehicle registrations, ticket issuance, and payment processing.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members to deliver exceptional service.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with guests, visitors, and colleagues.

  • Knowledge of valet parking operations, including vehicle handling techniques, parking equipment, and safety protocols.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 3 years of experience in valet parking operations is required, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting.
  • At least 1 year of experience supervising Valet Attendants is required.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity for operating vehicle keys and parking equipment.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Stamina and agility to run back and forth between the hotel entrance and parking areas to retrieve and park guests' vehicles efficiently.
