JOB SUMMARY
Provide an excellent dining experience to our diversified guests, exemplify excellent guest service, and extensive food and beverage knowledge.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Must be able to describe Chef’s special, featured wines/spirits, promotions, and thoroughly answer menu questions with confidence.

• Deliver food orders to guests dining in a full service restaurant.

• Carry a 27” oval tray in a traditional restaurant style containing hot and cold food items.

• Perform steps of service and maintain restaurant service standards.

• Practice safety and sanitation techniques.

• Perform proper table side wine service. Capable of describing, opening, and presenting wine.

• Perform tasks including bussing tables, seating guests, side work, and duties assigned by management.

• Communicate basic knowledge about the casino and hotel.

• Navigate through POS system and perform transactions such as placing food and beverage orders, typing in modifiers, splitting checks, and providing accurate table numbers and guest count. Properly tender all checks, comps, cash, credit cards, gift certificates ext.

• Communicate with kitchen staff when special requests are needed.

• Must wear black non-slip shoes.

• Other duties as assigned by management, including any supervisor, manager, or executive.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and minimum of two years experience in a similar full service and cashiering restaurant. Ability to balance and reconcile cashier banks.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to describe and up sell wines and spirits. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to guests and employees of the organization. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other Team Members of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
  • While employed, you must maintain a valid and active Blue Lake Tribal Gaming Commission License.
  • Must complete TIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures) training for serving alcohol responsibly within three months of being employed and maintain a valid certificate while employed thereafter.
