About this job

Payroll:
    • Process bi-weekly payroll on time and accurately. Process payroll for 3 companies and 100+ employees. Ensure payroll is signed off timely and within established deadlines to meet processing timelines.
    • Act as a subject matter expert and/or resource to others for payroll processing.
      • Assist supervisors and associates in the resolution of payroll issues and ensure timecards are signed off in a timely manner.
      • Assist, mentor, and/or train associates as needed.
    • Analyze, prepare, and enter payroll data using automated system to produce accurate and timely pay cycle.
      • Compile and process payroll data such as PTO time, Bereavement, Jury Duty, Terminations, commission and/or bonus, overtime, child support, garnishments, deductions, reimbursements etc.
      • Research missing or incomplete payroll data with departmental personnel.
  • Process any retroactive pay, off-cycle pay, bonuses and other special pays as directed by management.
  • Process employee promotions, pay changes, bonuses, and terminations in a timely manner.
  • Maintain knowledge and adhere to all local, state, and federal payroll-related laws, regulations, and taxes.
  • Responsible for setting up local withholding accounts and investigating local tax notices.
  • Review, analyze and verify payroll earnings records to ensure accurate taxable wages and withholdings for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting
  • Reconcile biweekly/monthly employee benefit invoices and payments
  • Create or run standard or custom payroll reports and distribute as necessary
  • Responsible for creating, auditing, balancing, and issuing Employee W-2's according to IRS guidelines and performing all year-end payroll processes.
Benefits Administration:
    • Serve as primary contact with all our service providers
    • Monitor benefits processing and assist with annual open enrollment process
    • Advise new and current employees of their benefit options
    • Monitor transfer of data to external contacts for services, premiums, and plan administration
    • Organize leaves of absence and process claims or requests (medical, worker's compensation etc.)
    • Ensure organization complies with applicable government regulations
    • Facilitate COBRA
    • 401k, HSA, and FSA management and administration

Additional Responsibilities:
    • Establish and maintain employee electronic records and maintain and secure physical personnel files
    • File relevant reports and documents as needed
    • Complete Employee verification requests
    • Participate in audits of payroll, 401k, personnel files, I-9s, worker's comp, and more
    • Additional Accounting & HR team support based on business needs

Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of payroll experience, required
  • Paycor experience, preferred
  • Understanding of payroll laws and functions.
  • Excellent organizational skills - Ability to maintain excellent weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end records, reports and documents.
  • Must be timely and efficient.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of employees
  • Personal character in accordance with company's core values and beliefs. Required to pass a drug and background check.
