Job Summary:The Platform Operations Specialist joins our Information Technology team and oversees operations and maintenance related to our local payment partner's payments gateway. This role ensures peak performance and excellent availability of services. Collaborating within the Information Technology team, this role shapes practices to administer, monitor, and secure the technology crucial to our local payment partner's success.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Assist infrastructure and application engineering teams with deployments, troubleshooting, service requests, and change controls.
  • Analyze, enhance, and develop operational procedures for our local payment partner's payments gateway.
  • Identify and implement improvements in support services.
  • Develop and refine documentation for processes and procedures supporting the payments gateway.
  • Address and resolve service availability issues related to the payments gateway.
  • Perform daily monitoring of logs, reporting relevant findings.
Primary Qualifications:
  • Proficient in Azure Cloud fundamentals, encompassing compute, network, storage, logging, and role-based access controls.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure PaaS offerings or their AWS equivalents.
  • Experience in DevOps tooling, managing repositories, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., ARM Templates, Ansible, Bicep).
  • Proficiency in modern DevOps tools such as Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, Git, Vagrant, Jenkins, Visual Studio Code.
  • Scripting/programming experience in BASH/Shell, PowerShell, or Python.
  • Proven ability to deliver client-focused solutions based on customer needs.
  • Effective project management skills, handling multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Thrives on challenging and innovative tasks.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, Cyber Security, or relevant field (4+ years of work experience in software, infrastructure automation, or cloud engineering substitutes for a bachelor's degree).
Preferred Skills/Experience:
  • Understanding of highly available, zero-downtime infrastructure (IaaS, PaaS, containers).
  • Experience in deploying, operating, and monitoring applications developed using C# & T-SQL.
  • Knowledge of security principles (defense-in-depth, least-privileged, secure-by-design), PCI DSS, Agile/Scrum methodologies, and solutions for monitoring, logging, security, and scalability on Azure or AWS.
