Healthcare practice looking to add a Director of Finance to organization. Position will need to be in the Nashville area.

The organization currently outsources the accounting functions but after continued growth and the addition of a second location, the reporting, analysis, and strategic decisions that come with growth are needed in house.
The Director of Finance will play a crucial role in the financial management and strategic planning of our practice. Reporting to the practice Owner/CEO, this individual will oversee all financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, accounting, and financial reporting. The successful candidate will ensure our financial health and compliance with all regulatory requirements, guiding our practice toward sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Financial Leadership: Develop and execute comprehensive financial strategies in line with the practice's objectives, including the management of budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial planning.
  • Financial Management and Reporting: Oversee the Practice accounting, ensuring adherence to accounting standards and regulatory compliance. Prepare, present, and analyze financial reports (income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements) for ownership. Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Operational and Risk Management: Implement and maintain financial controls and procedures to mitigate risk, enhance operational efficiency, and ensure compliance. Oversee cash management, accounts payable/receivable, insurance reimbursements, inventory accounting and general ledger maintenance. Lead the preparation of tax filings and manage external audits.
  • Collaboration and Advisory: Liaise with Leadership to optimize financial performance and support decision-making. Work with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial consultants as necessary. Provide financial analysis and support cost management initiatives. Offer insights and recommendations to leadership based on financial analysis and reports.
  • Systems and Compliance: Lead system enhancements and implementations to improve financial processes. Ensure timely compliance with all tax filings and regulatory requirements. Manage the preparation and approval of financial documents and procedures, including payroll, tax returns, and sales tax reporting.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify inefficiencies, implement process improvements, and coordinate cross-functional efforts to streamline processes. Stay updated on industry trends and changes in regulations, applying best practices in financial management.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree or CPA preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of financial management experience, preferably in the healthcare sector.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.
  • Experience with financial software and advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop financial strategies and effectively communicate financial information.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Strong ethical standards and a commitment to confidentiality.
