Seltzer’s Smokehouse is looking for a Smokehouse Associate who is ready to join us as we head into a new chapter in our amazing story. With a renewed vision from our next generation CEO, the iconic Seltzer’s brand is preparing for national expansion through innovation, creativity, and forward thinking.

Role: The Smokehouse Associates are responsible for conveying the bologna from the Making Room to one of 12 smokehouses. A fire is started inside the smokehouse and the product goes through the smoking process. Once the smoking process has been completed, the bologna is dropped and packed either into cages or hung on racks and transported to the coolers.

We are seeking an associate for our first shift. 

Responsibilities:

• After smoking process has been completed, the smokehouse associate unloads the house back into stainless steel trucks.
• Product is wheeled to designated location where they are either placed in powder coated cages or hung powder coated racks
• Assist Smokemaster in various tasks such as tending fires, monitoring PH levels
• Assist in production room set up and sanitation tasks
• Potential for Smokemaster training as capabilities are demonstrated
• Ensure food safety and food defense within the plant.

Ideally, you should have prior warehouse and logistics experience, Food Manufacturing Industry and experience with warehouse equipment including forklifts is preferred but not necessary.  You must possess effective, clear, and concise communication skills, computer/technology literacy and problem-solving skills.  You must have day to day flexibility and be able to work in varying temperatures.  Reliable transportation and the ability to work normal and/or extended (evenings, nights, weekends, holidays) office hours to meet established deadlines.

Compensation- We provide an amazing benefit package that include fully paid medical, dental, vision and a lot of other benefits. Vaccination and subsequent boosters are highly recommended. (Unvaccinated employees may be subject to a $50.00/pay surcharge if electing medical insurance.)
