The Food Services Leader coordinates activities and operations of all food service areas. Lead subordinate staff in the preparation of food, assure proper customer service expectations, adheres to proper cash handling procedures, and maintains cleanliness and safety of food service areas. Reports to Assistant Director of Front of House.

Food Services Leader duties include:

• Supervises the activities of subordinate personnel which involves instructing, assigning and reviewing work; planning, and maintaining standards.
• Supervises food preparation processes and monitors the amount of food prepared in accordance with seasonal demands and/or other conditions.
• Utilizes and understands BEO's to execute day of Events.
• Train and review customer service initiatives with part-time staff.
• Assist in implementation of training programs.
• Responsible for cash handling in stands, bars or other food service areas with registers.
• Available to work all food services areas (catering, concessions and restaurant)
• Assist with inventory completion and entering each month.
• Supervises the cleaning of concession areas and maintenance of equipment to ensure proper sanitation and health and safety guidelines are met.
• Adheres to all Toledo Zoo policies/procedures and all required OSHA and safety/health policies.

Minimum Training and Experience

Minimum of three to five years of experience in food services management, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities. Flexible schedule is a must, with the ability to work night and weekend hours. This position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and requires forty hours per scheduled work week. Must possess required certification in food service sanitation, have a valid drivers’ license and be insurable by the fleet insurance carrier.
