Cashier - St. James Winery

Seeking individuals with a focus on sales, hospitality and exceptional customer service. The Retail Cashier must be able to provide prompt, hospitable service to guests throughout the retail space. The Retail Cashier will have a positive attitude, be upbeat and engaging with guests, while accurately managing customer transactions, and employing good time management skills at times of peak attendance. The ideal candidate is familiar with the Branson area and assists their fellow team-members when upselling cases and bottles of wine plus any other retail merchandise in the winery retail area.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Always be friendly, inviting and fully engaged with guests.
• Welcome every guest to the Winery, directing them and answering any questions.
• Familiarize oneself on the various wines and beers and the St. James and Public House brands respectively (including characteristics, food pairings, awards won, etc.)
• Effectively and accurately manage customer transactions, both cash and credit card payments
• Maintain a clean work environment throughout the retail space.
• Provide assistance with wine and retail inventory when needed.
• Encourage the purchase of wine to take home and / or enjoy on the winery grounds.
• Packaging purchases, including proper bagging and boxing of wine orders and retail items
• Promote and upsell wine products and featured wines or merchandise.
• Complete opening and closing procedures of the retail counter.
• Ongoing tidying and stocking of wine, food items, and retail gifts
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Skills, Experience & Demand

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Cash handling experience preferred.
• Previous retail and sales experience preferred.
• Knowledge of point-of-sale systems preferred.
• Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and evening events if needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• Reliable transportation to and from work

Physical Demands

• While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift/move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Tolerance of occasional high noise levels
