Summary The System/Database Administrator will keep the database up and running smoothly 24/7. The goal is to provide a seamless flow of information throughout the company, considering both backend data structure and frontend accessibility for end-users by performing the following duties.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Maintaining and troubleshooting of physical and virtual Linux servers (rack mounts/blades, and VMs).
  • Maintaining, configuring, patching, upgrading and troubleshooting of physical and virtual Windows servers (rack mounts/blades, and VMs.)
  • Maintaining of backup, off-site tape storage, inventory-asset management.
  • Design, Deployment, and Management of complex application infrastructures.
  • Ability to manage and support database deployments and operations. (monitoring, backup, restore, cluster/replication configuration).
  • Investigating, resolving and closing user reported problems and application issues through our ticketing system.
  • Supporting users in the use of computer equipment by providing necessary training and advice.
  • Installing, configuring and deploying new PCs & Servers.
  • Providing a high level of customer service at all times.
  • Monitor server event logs, performance logs, growth of data on the network, and checking the status of nightly server backups.
  • Be an excellent team player and creative problem solver.
  • Share 24x7 on-call duties to maintain system availability.

Requirements:

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in in related field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows 2012-19 Server, Active Directory, Office365, Windows Pro 10, MacOS.
  • Experience with Veeam Backup & Recovery.
  • Experience with Linux (SUSE Linux Enterprise Server).
  • Experience with SQL (SAP Hana SQL), Tomcat, Nginx.
  • Experience with Networking (switch and router configuration) mostly Cisco a plus.
  • Experience with server virtualization technology, VMWare, Hyper-V.
  • Experience with Crystal Report is a plus.
  • Shell scripting in various languages Bash, Perl, Ruby.
  • Experience in highly available 24x7 production environment.

Language Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.


Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.


Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Development software; Internet software; Manufacturing software; Order processing systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.


Other Skills and Abilities

  • Hands-on with every aspect of our technical operations.
  • Implement infrastructure, system, application level monitoring to ensure high system availability.
  • Improve and manage application/configuration deployment tools.
  • Self-motivated, organized and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability lift 50 lbs equipment for installation.

Other Qualifications

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally to multi-site locations as needed.
