Assemble water heaters and/or components using hand tools and portable power tools.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Must have the ability to read tape measure and measuring devices, such as torque wrenches.
  • Must have basic computer knowledge
  • Must be able to read, understand and follow assembly instructions
  • Ability to use hand/light power tools.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High School degree or equivalent preferred

DECISION MAKING RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs most tasks according to established procedures, with limited opportunity for independent decision-making. Keeps track of safety issues and notifies appropriate individual.

COMPETENCIES, SKILLS, CERTIFICATIONS & ABILITIES

  • Basic knowledge of mechanical or electrical assembly, hydro testing, plumbing, setup and insulation.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and understand schematics for wiring and plumbing.
  • Able to use cordless power tools.
  • Basic computer skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed in a shop environment.Conditions vary based on the area and may include

PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS

  • Understanding of deadlines within a fast paced environment.
  • Constantly involves walking, bending at the neck, and reaching above and below the shoulder level.
  • Frequently involves power grasping.
  • Occasionally involves bending at the waist, squatting, climbing, kneeling, crawling, twisting at the neck and waist, simple grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling, and lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs.
  • Involves driving cars, trucks, forklift, etc., working around equipment and machinery, walking on uneven ground, exposure to excessive noise, and extreme temperatures or humidity and is required to use protective equipment as needed.
