The role:
The AML Program Manager will have oversight of the AML Department's project management and vendor management function. The role will be responsible for defining, tracking, and reporting the AML Department's roadmap regarding technology changes, process enhancements, procedural changes, and vendor transformation and enhancement initiatives. The role is expected to set direction for the project management and vendor management functions, develop direct reports, and inspire the team through servant leadership.
What you'll do:
Lead and oversee the AML Department's project management and vendor management functions.
Serve as a direct escalation point related to projects and vendor oversight and take ownership of resolving related issues.
Own select projects as criticality and capacity warrants.
Build strong relationships with cross-functional stakeholders that are critical to the success of AML-impacting initiatives.
Create, iterate upon, and own the framework for engaging with cross-functional stakeholders to stay in tune with all business and engineering initiatives that may have a downstream impact on the AML Department's processes and controls; drive interactions continuously.
Create, iterate upon, and maintain a roadmap of AML initiatives, spanning large strategic initiatives to smaller tactical initiatives.
Assist in driving the prioritization of initiatives across impacted cross-functional stakeholders and ensure stakeholders are continuously aligned in the AML Department's initiatives.
Set directions and ensure initiatives are assigned to project managers based on capacity, criticality, and subject matter expertise.
Create a standard framework for program and project reporting that is digestible to cross-functional stakeholders and senior leadership.
Assist in regulatory exams, internal audits, and third-party risk management reviews.
Develop, inspire, and serve the project management and vendor management functions by holding regular 1:1's, providing feedback on initiatives and interactions, and ensuring the team is engaged in a positive and nurturing environment.
What you'll need:
Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Finance, Business, Management, or other relevant areas.
8+ years of experience in the financial services industry with a demonstrated track record of delivery and/or relevant experience in risk and control management focusing on a variety of large-scale technical initiatives.
Effective negotiation and influencing skills, including strong written communication, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
Strong management, organizational, and evaluative process skills. Ability to analyze complex organizational and technical issues to improve performance and efficiency.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, across different business lines, and with external stakeholders.
Specific Skills in:
Experience in effectively executing a program and project roadmap that is technical in nature.
Experience in managing project managers or related demonstrable experience.
Experience in managing programs and projects related to AML controls. Examples include those related to transaction monitoring, customer screening, customer identification program verification, vendor oversight, and managed services.
Excellent organizational, verbal, written, and interpersonal skills are required.
Must multitask, adapt well to changing priorities, and effectively prioritize workflow to meet critical deadlines.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding, and changing environment; must work well under pressure.
Excellent analytical skills are required.
A demonstrated track record in identifying gaps, process improvements, and proactively proposing solutions, and as appropriate, executing team-wide communication and training.
Nice to have:
CAMS/CFE certification preferred (or willingness to become certified within one year of start date).
