The Plant Production Planner is responsible for supporting manufacturing by creating, communicating, and monitoring production schedules. They also monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure that sufficient supplies are in place to meet demands and that product quality can be maintained with proper rotation and age. The Plant Production Planner serves as the primary plant contact for the Customer Experience Team, Sales Team, Transportation/Logistics Team, Procurement Team, and other groups that impact sales, planning, production, warehousing, and shipping. These duties will cover one or multiple locations.

PLANT PRODUCTION PLANNER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maximize plant efficiencies and yields with coordinated production schedules that balance demands, storage, various department schedules and shipment dates.
  • Communicate schedules that are easy for operators, supervisors, and external teams to read, understand and follow by using formal scheduling tools.
  • Support product quality by managing the flow of the correct materials through the production process. This includes supporting the quality team with product codes and recipes.
  • Host and participate in a variety of communication and coordination meetings that cover items of plant production status, new product roll-out, product changes, and other plant logistics matters.
  • Proactively communicate plant delays in shipments and production internally and to our corporate support teams.
  • Other duties as assigned.

PLANT PRODUCTION PLANNER QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS in Supply Chain, Finance, or Business Administration or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with suppliers and internal customers to build a framework for strategic supplier relationships.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing, warehousing, or planning.
  • Proficiency with Excel, SharePoint, and other MS Office products suites to capture, execute and translate data; office equipment (scanner, copier)
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Action oriented with continuous improvement focus.
  • Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Well organized and ability to work on multiple projects and maintain flexibility.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Extreme climate or climate variation (may occur, if at plant).
  • Temperatures above 100 deg and below zero (may occur, if at plant).
  • Exposure to manufacturing equipment hazards, especially forklifts.
  • Standing and walking on concrete floor.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Walk up and down several flights of stairs.
