BASIC FUNCTION:

Primary responsibility for this position is providing effective customer service for all internal and external Peerless Industrial Group customers by utilizing excellent, in-depth knowledge of company products and programs as well as team members within the Customer Service Department. This position reports to the Customer Service Supervisor and will maintain a close relationship with all departments.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Handle all customer phone orders, inquiries, complaints or problems.
  2. Ensure that all proposals, quotations and customer correspondence is prepared neatly and submitted on time.
  3. Expedite customer orders and quotations.
  4. Effectively communicate and interface with all internal and external departments at Peerless.
  5. Receive, code and process new customer orders and change orders.
  6. Negotiate with customers, access areas of dispute and amends contracts when required.
  7. Coordinate shipping releases.
  8. Generate correspondence to secure additional customer information or resolve customer disputes.
  9. Work closely with outside sales managers to service customers.
  10. Maintain files of all documentation in appropriate systems.
  11. Regular attendance is an essential element of the job. Unplanned absences have the potential to impair the operation of the department and diminish effectiveness of the company
  12. Other duties as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma and prior sales experiences, preferably in a factory or manufacturing environment. Ability to efficiently and accurately enter data into multiple systems. Must be able to communicate professionally with the ability to speak, read, write and understand English. Demonstrated knowledgeable experience in Microsoft office. Experience with JD Edwards software preferred.
