To direct, coordinate and exercise functional authority for planning, organizing, control, integration and completion of engineering project within area of assigned responsibility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: These are duties that the person holding this job MUST be able to perform. The company makes accommodations on request, if the accommodations are reasonable, to allow otherwise qualified applicants to perform these functions.

· Plan and formulate engineering program and organize departmental resources according to project requirements.

· Coordinate interdepartmental project activities to specific phases of project, such as technical studies, product design, preparation of specifications and technical plans, product testing, layout and part submission procedures.

· Review product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards and customer contract requirements, and related specifications.

· Coordinate activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling and resolving engineering design and test problems.

· Direct integration of technical activities and products.

· Evaluate and approve design changes, specification and drawing releases.

· Direct the development of all quotations to customers.

· Prepare interim and completion project reports.

· Lead APQP Team and process.

· Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities to ensure quality levels are maintained and continuously improved. Maximize customer satisfaction levels.

· Within the limits of and in accordance with established, authorized policies, and the organization’s economic status, responsible for the effective and profitable operation and growth of the division with respect to conducting business, operations, and other related affairs. This includes advising and making recommendations to the General Manager regarding capital expenditures and enhancements to the manufacturing process.

· Work with customers, Customer Service, Manufacturing, Tooling, Quality Assurance, and material suppliers to develop new programs.

· Oversee and monitor the development of new programs.

· Assist in developing control plans and FMEAs.

· Interact directly with customers and prospective customers to maintain relationships and enhance business development.

· Look for and recommend manufacturing process enhancements to increase quality levels and profitability of existing programs.

Requirements:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university; or 1-2 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must maintain a valid driver’s license.

· Must have at least 1 year’s injection molding production floor experience.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/TASKS/ABILITIES:

· Ability to read blue prints and schematics.

· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and government regulations.

· Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

· Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

· Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.

· Must have strong computer background.

· Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

· Ability and availability to travel both domestically and abroad.

· Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
