POSITION SUMMARY
Pelican Energy is seeking an entry level civil engineer interested in designing industrial steel and concrete structures for clients in the energy sector.
Ideal candidate will be capable of performing work as assigned and mentored by a Design Engineer, Lead engineer, Project Engineer or Manager using structural analysis and design skilled learned in the classroom an applied to real world situations. Engineer I typically designs minimal small scale structural steel supports and concrete foundations with larger and more complex designs assigned with ever increasing skills and experience.

Essential Functions Statement (s)
- Develop understanding of client, industry, regulatory and other guidelines, codes, etc.
- Work toward having ability for developing engineering calculations using scope and criteria provided, with minimal direction.
- Work toward having ability to design steel and concrete structures and foundations for pipe supports and industrial equipment such as vessels and exchangers with minimal assistance.
- Prepare design calculations as directed from code derived designer criteria.
- Perform other technical assignments as directed.
- Work toward developing ability to coordinate efforts with drafting personnel.
- Work towards developing ability to review and correct engineered drawings.
- Work toward knowledge of designing with structural analysis software, such as RISA.
