Part Time Intern: News, TV, Content & General Internships

We are looking for dynamic, energetic interns for the spring of 2024 who are eager to learn about WVIA by assisting various departments, including our creative, content, TV and news teams. This is a paid, part-time role.

You will be working closely with our team to fulfill various administrative and operational duties, in support of our mission and operational goals. Our Intern program is an excellent opportunity for interested students to participate in experiential learning that integrates knowledge and theory learned in the classroom with practical application and skills development in a professional setting.

Interns will have the opportunity to observe the workplace and gain industry knowledge, while also performing job-specific tasks to assist with overall operations.

Slots are extremely limited and fill up quickly, so applicants are encouraged to apply early.

The time commitment for our interns is between 8 to 12 hours per week for up to a 10-week time frame over the summer months. All work is supervised by a WVIA employee and interns are paid a minimum hourly rate. The deadline to apply for our summer internships is December 15, 2023 so get your application in today. • A final year student or recent college graduate.
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
• Eager to learn and work with various departments at WVIA
• Have a belief in the WVIA mission
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Ability to multitask
• Ability to work flexible hours to meet production needs, with the requirement to sometimes work evening hours.
• Self-directed with the ability to handle multiple projects
• Minimum GPA of 3.0
• Interest in communications, broadcasting, or journalism
• Must be able to pass a standard drug screen and criminal background check and comply with internal vaccine requirements
