Pipefitter/Welder

Position Overview:

Candidate will be responsible for cutting, assembling, and installing pipes. Working to a set of precise specifications, candidate will operate tools and machines to grind, mill and shape raw materials into a specified form, then assemble the final product. Welding experience is a plus. Other duties as assigned.

Position is 40 hours per week.

No travel or per diem. Local to Malcolm, IA BASF and surrounding area.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Enforce jobsite safety to comply with all OSHA regulations and the Company's Safety Program
• Ability to work in various weather conditions
• Possess the knowledge and experience to layout and fit pipe
• Inspect angles, gap allowances using precision measuring instruments
• Additional Duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Education and Experience

• Basic math skills
• Knowledge of basic tools and their applications

• Ability to work at above ground elevations while wearing a harness and other protective equipment
• Good hand-eye coordination

Physical Abilities

• Must be able to fulfill essential job functions in consistent state of alertness and in a safe manner
• Must be able to lift and move up to 50lbs regularly
• Must be able to climb ladders repetitively
• Ability to perform physically demanding work for 8+ hours a day, including prolonged standing and walking, bending, and twisting.
• Ability to complete tasks such as loading, un-loading, cleaning, shoveling, and painting.
• Ability to safely perform duties related to confined space work.
