CYBER FUSION CENTER Application Security Engineer (Cloud Experience)

Our organization is looking for a passionate and highly motivated principal security engineer within the Cybersecurity & Risk Management (CSRM) department.
The primary responsibility of this role is to support all applications and systems to ensure the protection of information from potential outside influences. Working closely with cybersecurity subject matter experts, you will contribute to creating and maintaining cybersecurity standards, guidelines, and patterns; Additionally, you will collaborate with technical teams to implement these standards, address security gaps, and provide support for security remediation.

Reporting to the Security Engineering Manager the person in this role will support the CSRM department's objective to ensure applications and systems are secure by design and secure by default.


WHAT YOU WILL DO

Works with tech teams to engineer and implement solutions to meet security standards, guidelines, or patterns

Creates and maintains cybersecurity standards, guidelines, and patterns

Assess and enhance the security posture of cloud-based environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) by implementing and maintaining security controls.

Conduct security assessments on applications, including static and dynamic code analysis, to identify and remediate vulnerabilities. Provide reports/artifacts, recommendations for remediations,

Develop and implement automated security testing tools and processes to streamline security assessments and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.

Contribute to the design and implementation of secure architecture for cloud-based applications, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.

Educate and evangelize cybersecurity within the organization

Support tech teams navigate cybersecurity and risk management organization's processes

Collaborate on security research activities such as testing tools, and emerging threats that may have an adverse impact on cybersecurity.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Bachelor's Degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field. Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Security Specialty or Azure Security Engineer are a plus.

Strong proficiency in both verbal and written communication skills. You should be able to articulate complex security concepts and finding clearly and effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders. This includes presenting information, explaining technical details, and providing recommendations concisely and understandably.

Proven experience engaging with stakeholders at different levels within different parts of the organization, including executives, managers, product owners, developers, and operational support teams.

Provide guidance and support to development teams in implementing secure coding practices and secure software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes.

Proficient & proven experience in cloud technologies AWS/GCP/Azure.

Solid understanding of cloud security principles, infrastructure as code (IaC), and security automation.

Advanced skills on writing scripts in various languages such as Bash, Python, and PowerShell

Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
