National Client Is Seeking an Experienced 3rd Shift Refrigeration Tech, 5 years experience

  • Responsibilities will include repairs and preventative maintenance of all the Refrigeration systems, HVAC systems, Inspecting the equipment, and performing daily rounds to ensure compliance of our PSM and RMP policies.
  • Perform routine and breakdown maintenance of boilers, air compressors, condenser systems and waste-water treatment system.
  • Performs Maintenance Tracking Sheet (MTS) inspections for the Mechanical Integrity of the Ammonia Refrigeration Systems.
  • Performs IIAR Bulletin 109 Inspections for the Ammonia System Equipment.
  • Knowledge of the typical refrigeration cycle and knowledge of ammonia control valves and related piping as needed for safe service and repair.
  • Must be able to read and follow basic and advanced drawings and schematics.
  • Provide informal and formal training for other Refrigeration/Utility team members as required through the "Refrigeration/Utility training program".
  • Utilize construction and fabrication skills.
  • Ensures PM's are completed in a timely manner and ensuring mechanical integrity of the ammonia system per RMP/PSM guidance is followed.
  • Ensures Utilities Systems involving Ammonia Refrigeration, Compressed Air, Boilers, Steam, Condensate Return, Glycol, Brine, HVAC, Fire Sprinklers, Fire Pumps, Fire Risers, Wastewater Pretreatment, and Natural Gas are operated, inspected, and maintained in a safe, productive, and reliable manner to meet our business needs and comply with regulatory requirements including Process Safety Management (PSM) and our Risk Management Plan for environmental concerns.
  • Operate and repair electro-mechanical equipment such as ammonia refrigeration valve groups, freezers, electric motors, pumps, ammonia compressors, condensers, forced air evaporators, compressed air systems, steam systems, PLC's and utilities processes, machines, and equipment.
  • Develop corrective work orders as needed
  • Ensure and monitor safe work practices and safety guidelines.
  • Be actively involved in all of the 14+ elements of the PSM/RMP Programs
  • Active member of the emergency response team.
  • Complete daily shift record keeping and reporting as required.
  • Perform basic PC skills.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Refrigeration trade skills applied as per certifications noted below, Ability to handle multiple and complex tasks well, solid understanding of control circuits, ability to read schematics and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and process components, basic PC skills, record keeping and reporting.

EXPERIENCE:
Not required, although HIGHLY DESIRABLE: RETA certification as a Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator. (CIRO).
Consideration will be given to a RETA Certified Industrial Refrigeration Assistant or other comparable ammonia refrigeration industry certifications with the expectation that the candidate becomes a RETA (CIRO) operator within one year of hire date.

High School Diploma or GED Required.

Hazmat Certification. 24 hour Hazmat Emergency Response Training and current certificate.

5-Years of Ammonia Refrigeration experience preferred. 2-Years of Boilers and Compressed Air experience preferred.
