Job Title:                   Busperson - SKYBOKX

Reports To:               Restaurant Management

Status:                       Non-Exempt

Position purpose:

To assist the waitstaff and kitchen in maintaining cleanliness in the restaurant, clearing tables, stocking items as needed and other duties as requested.                                                                          

Essential Elements:

  • Regular and punctual attendance.
  • Ability to stand and walk continuously.
  • Ability to bend, squat, and reach.
  • Ability to move freely within food outlet area.
  • Ability to lift and carry a server tray weighing approximately 50 pounds in the overhand style of service.
  • Ability to push and/or pull carts weighing approximately 100 pounds.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with guests and other employees.
  • Ability to interact with guests and other employees in a courteous, empathetic, and discreet manner.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including use of percentages.
  • Ability to read and write effectively.
  • Ability to work with chemicals, for example: cleaners and disinfectants.
  • Ability to work in temperature extremes, including handling hot utensils and equipment.

 

Job Tasks:

  • Obtain service area assignment at the beginning of each shift.
  • Promptly greet guests as they are seated and bring bread, butter and water to table.
  • Remove used tableware between courses and provide tableware for next course.
  • Clear tables after guests.
  • Take soiled tableware to dishroom and unload, sort and stack silverware, dishes, glassware, etc. in designated areas in the soiled dish drop off area.
  • Between seatings promptly clean table tops, chairs and booths. Check floor and clean as required. Reset and arrange tabletop.
  • Inspect assigned restroom every 30 minutes and clean as needed.
  • Respond appropriately to guest requests. Communicate guest requests to server as needed.
  • Communicate with server and hostess to assure efficient seating, table utilization and customer service.
  • Assist server as needed with food delivery, especially with large parties and during peak periods.
  • Thank guests as they are leaving
  • Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant management

Education:

High school diploma required. 

Experience:

  • Preferred: minimum of (2) years hands on experience with food & beverage operations

Licenses or Certificates:

  • TIPS Certification within 60 days of Employment
  • Must meet any city, county, state or other legal minimum age requirement to sell/serve alcoholic beverages.
