Trailer Service Tech I or II, 2nd Shift

We are looking for an experienced trailer technician for a 1st or 2nd shift position.

The Tractor Trailer Mechanic will assist in the repair and diagnosis of trailer equipment at the direction of Lead Technician or Maintenance Supervisor. Experience repairing roll-up and swing doors, body panels, roofing and floors. Welding experience desired.

• Enter work orders into maintenance software system. Filing of work orders.
• Preventative maintenance on trailers.
• Minor electrical diagnostics and repair.
• Perform brake adjustments and replacements.
• Perform clutch adjustments.
• Replace lights on trailers.
• Tire installation.
• Winterization of equipment.
• Suspension and running gear components
• Landing gear assembly and components
• Wheel components and tires
• Brake and air components
• Electrical, lighting and wiring components
• Rear frame and door components
• Side, nose and roof components
• Interior and floor components
• Demonstrate a proficient level of welding and metal fabrication skill.
• Perform service calls and road test vehicles to ensure quality repair services were performed.
• Actively participate in the care and upkeep of the shop/equipment/tools ensuring a clean, safe environment that complies to all OSHA and company standards.
• Work in compliance to EPA regulations as well as DOT and company safety requirements.
• Perform other maintenance duties or assignments when necessary.
• Ability to communicate repair issues to Manager or lead mechanic daily.
• Demonstrate professional excellence and courtesy to both internal and external customers and vendors.
• Proficient in recording all work and labor in maintenance systems.
• Ability to manage time efficiently, completing work in time allotted.
• Valid Drivers License – with no or limited moving violations in previous 3 years, CDL Class A preferred, but not required.
• Must be able to pass drug screen, DOT physical and Functional Employment Physical. Must be willing to participate in Random Drug Program.
• Basic computer skills – Word, Excel, Outlook.
