Job Status: Full-Time

FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt

Salary: Pay commensurate with experience.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Serve as primary lead to lift and deliver boats via water, or arrange and execute delivery on land
  • Work carefully at all times to ensure safety standards are met and enforced. Utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to prevent injury. Ensure all watercraft is properly clear and disconnected from electrical implements prior to pulling from service bay, water, or unloading from trailer
  • Maintain and repair the equipment used to move and handle watercraft. Update maintenance logs and record all routine maintenance and repairs conducted on each piece of equipment
  • Familiarize yourself with our inventory of new, used, brokered, and client owned watercraft and trailers on site. Be prepared to move watercraft as needed to ensure the service flow is efficient and smooth
  • Conduct a review of client watercraft upon receipt. Take note of any damage (including cosmetic damage) or additional notable features to ensure any future client claims are accurate
  • Maintain the cleanliness and general organization of the service shop and conduct repairs to facility as needed. Report major repairs to Service Manager. Order supplies from Office Coordinator to ensure shop is stocked at all times with necessary items.
  • Responsibilities pertaining to Covered Docks, Storage, and Stored Watercraft:
    • Facilitate monthly check of all watercraft
    • Confirm that all client owned boats in storage are authorized and have a contract on file
    • Report any damage to watercraft or dock/lifts to Service Manager immediately
    • Properly cover and block all watercraft. Ensure boats are draining properly and water is not pooling on covers
  • Assist Service Technicians with routine maintenance and repair upon request
  • Additional duties and tasks as assigned by Service Manager

Skills & Abilities

Education: High School Diploma or GED is required, Post-secondary education is desired

Experience: 2-4 years’ marine and/or heavy equipment experience preferred

Computer Skills: Basic computer skills required. Experience with DockMaster is valued

Certifications & Licenses: Forklift Certification is a requirement (Big Thunder Marine will provide training) Must possess, or have the ability to obtain, a Class E drivers and MO boaters license

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Typical office environment with moderate noise level when working indoors. Outdoor and marine environment may contain uneven and slippery surfaces. Noise level may increase substantially upon interaction with watercraft.
