Cad Drafter/Rebar Detailer

POSITION OVERVIEW: Oversee and manage all functions relating to producing placing drawings and material cut list (bar list) for any assigned jobs. Prepare high quality, accurate, reinforcing steel placement drawings, through the interpretation of engineer's plans and specifications. Drawings will need to conform to industry and company standards to provide necessary information for productive fabrication and field placement. Work will be drawn with computer-aided design (CAD) systems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Will prepare simple and routine rebar placing plans of structural component using structural, civil and/or architectural drawings and specification. • Has an understanding of concrete construction and be able to read structural architectural and civil drawings. • Is able to operate and draw in MicroStation (preferably) or AutoCad. • Performs other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS: • 1 year of previous detailing experience preferred. • High School Diploma or equivalent required. • Previous experience with Auto CAD or MicroStation preferred. • Experience and practical knowledge of rebar detailing per industry standards preferred. • Must meet CMC attendance standards.

• Ability to interact with coworkers and customers in a positive manner, follow directions and work rules and accept constructive feedback required. • Strong mathematical skills. • Ability to communicate with customers, business leaders, and employees required. • Must demonstrate outstanding organization and multi-tasking skills. • Ability to work overtime as necessary outside of normally scheduled shift with little or no advance notification required, including weekends and holidays. • Most importantly, has a desire or "passion" to be in the construction industry as a design professional.
