Inventory Manager

Onsite in Shepherdsville, KY (40165)

Pay rate: $60,000-$65,000 annually

Shift: Monday-Friday, 8:00am 5:00pm

Our client is a dynamic third-party logistics (3PL) provider specializing in small parcel shipping, is seeking an experienced Inventory Manager to join their team in Shepherdsville, KY.

Position Summary:

The Inventory Manager is responsible for managing and controlling client owned inventory within the warehouse. This role involves coordinating with account managers, freight companies, the order fulfillment team. Managing the inventory team to ensure efficient and accurate inventory management.This role requires an initiative-taking, organized individual who can effectively manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

This positions time is divided as follows: 40% strategic and continuous improvement efforts, 40% management of team, & 20% analyzing and reporting metrics including performance, quality, costs, and culture matrix.This position serves as a backup for the inventory supervisors.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management: Develop and implement inventory planning, slotting, and forecasting strategies to ensure optimal pick face stock levels. Analyze client SKU demand patterns and collaborate with the order fulfillment team to anticipate inventory needs.Monitor departmental replenishment and optimization to ensure >99.5% on time shipping and quality.
  • Inventory Control: Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to maintain accurate inventory levels. Monitor daily client inventory adjustments in WMS. Identify and solve the root cause of inventory non-conformance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Support kaizen, 5s, six sigma, and lean manufacturing projects and goals (2 projects per quarter)
  • Facility Material Handling Equipment: Oversee general maintenance of the warehouse material handling equipment.Schedule preventive maintenance, train personnel on equipment, and coordinate with vendors for necessary repairs or upgrades. Ensure compliance with OSHA health and safety standards.
  • Report/Documentation Management: Maintain SLA standards through KPI metrics reporting. Write departmental SOPs as required.Understand all written, departmental processes, and ensure they are current.
  • Personnel Management: Track employee hours, monitor for missed punches, and assist in new hire onboarding. Monitor staff performance, track goals, objectives, and deadlines, and conduct employee performance reviews. Develop a path of progression for each employee through individual performance matrices.
  • Additional Duties: Serve on the Safety Committee. Perform other related duties as assigned by the General Manager to support the company's goals and objectives.

Requirements:

  • 5+ Years of experience of relevant experience
  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field
  • Proven experience in inventory management, preferably in a 3PL environment.
  • Strong Forklift and Reach truck experience required.
  • Ability to motivate others at all levels.
  • Attention to detail regarding repetitive tedious tasks.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Knowledge of inventory management software and ERP systems
  • Excellent people skills and can work under pressure.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in office software (e.g., MS Office) and experience with KPI reporting management.
  • Bilingual Spanish and English-speaking a plus
  • Flexibility to work some weekends

Duties of this job may require occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of objects weighing up to 50 lbs., working in a warehouse environment, operation various hand and motor-powered equipment, standing on concrete floors, walking for extended periods of time, stooping, bending, twisting, and being exposed to loud noises and various temperature and scents.
