HR Benefits Specialist (Bilingual)

As an integral part of our HR department, The Benefits Specialist will play a crucial role in administering employee benefits programs and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in benefits administration, excellent communication skills, and a passion for supporting employees. This role requires a creative and strategic thinker who can collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive organizational growth and development.

Responsibilities:

1. Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.
2. Serve as the main point of contact for employee inquiries regarding benefits, assisting with enrollment, changes, and eligibility.
3. Coordinate with benefits providers to ensure accurate and timely processing of enrollments, terminations, and claims.
4. Conduct benefits orientations for new hires and provide ongoing education to employees about available benefits options.
5. Collaborate with the HR team to develop and implement strategies for enhancing employee engagement and satisfaction through benefits offerings.
6. Stay updated on changes to federal and state regulations related to employee benefits and ensure company compliance.
7. Prepare and distribute communications materials related to benefits programs, including open enrollment materials, plan summaries, and notices.
8. Assist with the administration of leave programs, including FMLA, ADA, and other statutory requirements.
9. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to benefits administration, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
10. Support HR initiatives and projects as needed.
11. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelors degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
2. 3 + years of experience in benefits administration or a similar HR role.
3. Fluent in Spanish, with excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish.
4. Strong understanding of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.
5. Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to learn new software programs quickly.
6. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
7. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
8. Knowledge of federal and state regulations governing employee benefits, including ERISA, ACA, and HIPAA.
9. Professional certification such as PHR or SHRM-CP is a plus.
