Daycare Helper

Daycare Helper (Part or Full Time) | North Charleston

We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Daycare Helper to join our team. As a Daycare Helper, you will play a vital role in assisting us with kitchen duties and shuttling children to/from school. Full-time hours are available if willing to work directly with children in the classroom as an assistant to the lead teacher.

Pay rate of $16.25+ per hour, based on experience.

About The Sunshine House:
The Sunshine House Early Learning Academy is a nurturing and inclusive daycare center dedicated to providing a safe and stimulating environment for children aged 6 months to 12 years. We believe in fostering creativity, social development, and early learning through play-based activities.

Positions Available at:

• Sunshine House of Charleston, 8180 Dorchester Road
• Sunshine House of North Charleston, 2145 NAD Road
• Sunshine House of North Charleston, 4008 Salt Point Pkwy

Kitchen Duties:

• Prepares and distributes meals/snacks for children and staff according to guidelines and provided menus.
• Follows daily menu that incorporates USDA, licensing and/or health department regulations.
• Ensures safe food preparations and proper sanitation methods are used and maintains a safe kitchen/pantry area.
• Maintains inventory of food and supplies.

Transporting Duties:

• Safely transport children to and from the daycare center in a daycare-provided vehicle.
• Ensure that all children are securely fastened in their seats and follow all traffic safety regulations.
• Maintain a clean and well-organized vehicle, conducting regular safety checks.
• Greet children and parents warmly, creating a positive start and end to their day.
• Collaborate with daycare staff to ensure a smooth transition between the vehicle and the daycare facility.

Requirements

• At Least 21 years old
• Proof of High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 6 months of experience working at a licensed childcare center preferred.
• Clean driving record in the last 3 years.
