What You Will Do...


The Regional Director will be directly accountable for the financial and operational success of multiple markets within our East Region (FL, NJ and NY). This position will provide training, direction and guidance to District Managers and their centers’ teams, develop talent, foster accountability, and inspire a team focused on creating customer loyalty to achieve and exceed business performance goals. Ensure effective site operations through proactive practices, following company policies and procedures, and the Mathnasium Method. Drive quality and consistency of the customer experience, maximizing customer acquisition and retention. Maintain and foster effective communication with the COO and Executive Director.

GENERAL SUMMARY:
Plan and lead the activities of all centers within the assigned region of operation, including full profit and loss responsibility, while acting within the scope of company objectives and policies to accomplish regional and company goals.


DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:


Lead District Managers, center management and center teams, by ensuring:

  • A culture that fosters Mathnasium’s mission and values.
  • Fair administration of human resources policies and practices.
  • Superior customer service through fun, friendly centers.
  • Regional annual sales exceed goals through leadership, talent development, operational excellence, support and accountability to our business model, policies and processes.
  • Maximization of performance and productivity through a commitment to sensible staff and client scheduling.
  • Protection of company assets through loss prevention and expense efficiencies.
  • Development of field partnerships with District Managers, Center Leaders and Support Center Leaders as well as Mathnasium HQ Field Leaders.
  • Consistent communication of company priorities to District Managers and Center Management teams.


Requirements:

KNOWLEDGE and REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • 3+ years’ experience achieving sales and profitability goals as the regional leader within your territory.
  • 5+ years of related multi-unit experience with a strong focus on building relationships, developing teams, and creating future leaders in a growing company.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce desired results by leveraging resources, maintaining strong expense control, managing staffing needs, and setting clear expectations. Demonstrated results-oriented leadership including the ability to model total development and serve as a steward of Mathnasium mission and values.
  • Financial analysis skills sufficient to interpret operating statements and other financial reporting data, performance metrics/KPIs, budgets, and payroll.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal and leadership skills including a willingness to consistently provide superior customer service, the ability to act appropriately under pressure, the ability to apply good judgment in ambiguous situations, and demonstrated flexibility/adaptability.
  • Ability to effectively work in collaboration with others to achieve objectives in a participative management style.
  • Outstanding verbal, written and technical communication abilities.
  • Business degree preferred.
  • Candidates should possess consultative sales skills which include; rapport building, active listening, assessing customer needs, overcoming conversational objections and closing.
  • Highly organized; managing multiple, concurrent priorities/projects with accuracy and sense of urgency; plan and work under own initiative.
  • Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to analyze/interpret business reports and statistics, as well as write reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, and weekends with local and out of state travel required.
  • Must be in the Orlando, FL area, or be willing to relocate.
  • Minimum of 65% travel required.

WORK EXPERIENCE and/or EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) with 3+ years as a regional leader, 5+ years of multi-unit management experience and 7+ years of retail/hospitality with full P&L experience preferred; equivalent education and experience combination will be considered.

Primary Objectives

  • Understanding the company mission and values, our team and families needs and translate that understanding into managing a remarkable Mathnasium Region
  • Strategic planning; evaluate center KPI’s and implement effective measures to drive sales, improve team performance, and enhance parent satisfaction
  • Fiscal management of the districts/centers, including achieving top line revenue targets and managing labor according to company expectations
  • Recruit, select, coach and develop talent on an individual level, create succession plans for each district, and support continued growth of the company
  • Mentor and develop team members in the areas of leadership, customer service and sales
  • Collaborate with District Managers in identifying and participating in marketing events; Foster collaborative relationships with local schools and organizations
  • Perform operational and administrative functions to support the company and needs of each market as required.
  • Lead region in center growth initiatives, training and employee development priorities, recruiting, employee relations and customer relationships, retention and service response.
