Maps Credit Union seeks a Professional Development and Sales Trainer to join our Learning & Development team. Reporting to the Manager of Learning & Development, this position develops and delivers impactful professional development and sales training programs to Credit Union employees. Our Trainers utilize adult learning theory in a blend of classroom, virtual, e-learning, and one-on-one training as appropriate, and ensure all training is in alignment with the Credit Union’s strategic priorities and unwavering commitment to service excellence.


The Professional Development and Sales Trainer will:

  • Collaborate with the Learning & Development team, managers, and Credit Union staff to provide essential training and support to all employees as it relates to professional development and sales topics, such as: prospecting, qualifying, and closing deals, handling objections, and negotiating.
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to peers and leaders within the organization, specifically focused on sales and professional development initiatives. Including, but not limited to, conducting one-on-one coaching sessions, offering guidance, teambuilding activities/events, facilitation, and mentoring peers/leaders.
  • Partner with leaders and HR Business Partners to set individual goals and action plans.
  • Play a key role in the planning, implementation, and delivery of employee and member education and training programs, with an emphasis on sales and professional development training, ensuring that these programs align with the Credit Union’s strategic objectives and service quality standards.
  • Administer training programs encompassing in-person training, group sessions, web-based courses, training videos/libraries, focusing on sales, professional development, accountability, and coaching.
  • In partnership with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), design and implement sales enablement tools and resources to support the ongoing development of sales within the Credit Union.
  • Track trainees’ progress and evaluate the effectiveness of professional development and sales training programs. Conduct needs assessments to ensure training initiatives are met.
  • Review reports maintained within the training database or Learning Management System (LMS) to understand completion rates, assessment results, and feedback.
  • Provide timely feedback to managers on employee progress and offer performance coaching and feedback.
  • Evaluate and assist in designing training manuals, related materials, and procedures.
  • · Maintain a commitment to continuous learning, staying current in all assigned training areas, including sales techniques, professional development, and relevant trends.
  • Recommend improvements or enhancements to policies, workflow processes, operations, and procedures to enhance productivity and build member relationships.
  • Serve as a role model for embodying the Credit Union’s core values and demonstrating appropriate professional behavior.
  • Perform other job-related duties as required.
Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Advanced interpersonal skills to foster relationships and successfully motivate, influence, and train others.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image.
  • Strong training and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor training to different learning styles using adult learning theory. Ability to present complex information to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to foster and promote a positive attitude toward a sales and service culture that achieves Credit Union sales goals.
  • Accurate typing/keyboarding skills; intermediate computer skills, including the use of word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software applications, e-mail, and departmental-specific software.
  • Ability to remain flexible in order to adapt to changes in the work environment.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude; encouraging and supporting positive employee, member, and vendor interactions.

Qualifications:

  1. Minimum of two years of professional development and sales experience.
  2. Minimum of five years of experience in adult learning principles and traditional and modern training methods (mentoring, facilitation, team building, coaching, on-the-job or in-classroom training, e-learning, workshops, simulations, etc.).
  3. A two-year college degree in business, economics, banking training, or equivalent completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school, or any equivalent course of study combined with equivalent experience.
  4. Must be bondable.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM.

This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule (2 days remote and 3 days onsite.)


Exempt Starting Salary Range: $51,730 - $64,663 per year.
