Job Summary:

Assists with coordinating and maintaining the surgical supply system ensuring that it operates in a fiscally sound and efficient manner by managing surgical supplies and equipment from acquisition to disposition. Assists with maintaining the supply inventory within the surgical department including ordering, receiving, storage and distribution of all supplies used in the surgical department.

Job Requirements:

Education and Work Experience:

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
• Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred

Essential Functions:

• Ensures all surgical instrumentation and equipment is kept in good repair and adequate surgery inventory is maintained in a cost effective manner. Participates and conducts in periodic physical inventories and cycle counting. Updates and maintains surgery inventory and tracking system in a cost effective manner and ensures an accurate account of supplies.
• Assists with coordinating all returned and recalled items in a timely manner. Notifies user of back orders and works to identify alternative product of supply streams.
• Supports process improvement solutions to optimize inventory, system and effective cost objectives.
• Acts as a resource regarding special supply requests. Supports the implementation activities of new procedures, policies, and systems. Collaborates and communicates with providers, facilities, and members of department.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
