What is the role?

Intersection is seeking a meticulous, skilled and detail-oriented street photographer for a full-time role in our Minneapolis office. Reporting to our Marketing Manager the photographer will capture static and digital media assets on streets and in rail stations across the city of Minneapolis on a day-to-day-basis, with a heavy emphasis on peak commuter hours (7-9am & 4-6pm). This role involves year-round work, requiring resilience and adaptability to various weather conditions and outdoor elements.

What you will accomplish:

  • Shooting marketing photos for all Intersection's outdoor advertising in a timely manner that exceeds brand guidelines and client expectations
  • Fulfilling videography requests for capturing dynamic footage of Intersection's outdoor advertising and related marketing activities, collaborating closely with the internal video team to ensure on-time delivery of assets and cohesive visual storytelling across all media platforms
  • Uploading and tagging photographs to the Intersection photo library
  • Light batch editing and touch-ups
  • Maintaining efficient shot list scheduling by collaborating with the photo team, operations, and transit authority
  • Leading bespoke photoshoots of outdoor assets, capturing media and surrounding atmosphere in engaging ways for use in press and marketing materials
  • Photographing Intersection media assets in high-traffic areas during rush hours (morning and evening)

In the first 3 months you will:

  • Understand the role that photography plays in the sales process, and feel comfortable photographing all of our assets.
  • Build a strong relationship with our marketing manager in the Minneapolis market and collaborate to streamline processes and maximize team productivity.
  • Work collaboratively with Marketing & Sales colleagues to manage incoming photo and video requests.
  • Feel confident in knowing the best places to find and shoot our assets for our customers.

Within the first year you will:

  • Develop a strong understanding of how photography aids the sales cycle.
  • Establish yourself as a highly valued and reliable member of the Marketing team, developing new skills to continuously improve the photography work coming out of the Minneapolis office.
  • Build relationships with our corporate creative team and assist with national projects on an as-needed basis.

You are awesome for this role because:

  • You have a bachelor's degree in Photography or a related field.
  • You possess a background and passion for street photography and are adept at capturing both photos and video candidly in public settings.
  • You are at ease maneuvering through the urban environment of Minneapolis and possess a solid understanding of utilizing public transportation systems.
  • You have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation, which will be utilized for tracking media assets efficiently.
  • You thrive under pressure, consistently meeting tight deadlines while effortlessly connecting with a diverse range of internal and external clients.
  • You are a highly-organized collaborator who feels comfortable working independently
  • You've got an artistic eye for detail, with an extensive understanding of cameras, lighting and composition
  • You have a demonstrated record of consistently meeting and exceeding project goals
  • You're proficient in MAC & PC Platforms, Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office, (additional multimedia programs would be an asset)
  • You've got experience shooting digital video (required)
  • You have basic photography equipment (required)
  • You've got Out-of-Home media experience (a strong plus)
