We are currently searching for an experienced Project Manager/Construction Manager to support our Program Management services in the West Gulf Region, located in the state of Louisiana.

The Program Management Group serves as a professional consultant to a variety of public and private sector clients in the successful management of individual projects and large-scale building programs. The Group assists clients with determination of facility needs, development of capital budgets and management of all other professional and construction service providers in the delivery of capital projects meeting the client’s programmatic, schedule and budgetary goals.

This position provides leadership and oversight for business, technical and administrative management of all program and construction management activity in the state of Louisiana. Should be familiar with the integration of architectural design, engineering, procurement, and construction activities.

What you’ll be doing:

Project Execution

  • Acts as the Company representative with the client and internal subconsultants as well as third party consultants and contractors during the program execution.
  • Prepares a Project Execution Plan (PEP) that identifies the project team organization, identifies each specific task or phase and all work that must be performed to complete the project, outlines a schedule to ensure that the project can be completed on time, and develops an estimate and schedule of the manpower requirements needed to complete the project.
  • Holds a project kick-off meeting to review the PEP with project team members.
  • Ensures Quality Control reviews are taking place and are documented.
  • Notifies accounting when the project is ready for the closure cycle and ensures all files and documents are retained in accordance with corporate policy.
  • Maintains daily contact with field personnel during all field activities.

Project Monitoring and Review

  • Is responsive and maintains direct contact with clients on a continuing basis to discuss technical and scheduling issues.
  • Conducts project staff meetings to review progress and further communication and coordination within the team.
  • Participates in the month end project review that coincides with monthly billing and status reports.
  • Prepares and presents a detailed project review for the Group Manager.
  • Prepares and issues a monthly project progress report.
  • Reviews Revenue Summary Reports monthly
  • Maintains accurate documentation of job progress through daily logs and other reports.

Project Control

  • Develops project documents, processes, and procedures required to support quality control and final project deliverables.
  • Ensures that all technical design changes are approved to conform to the standards, systems and procedures as prescribed by the requirements of the project.
  • Solicits the help of the Operations Manager and other Project Managers, as appropriate, to solve scheduling or technical problems encountered in the progress of the work.
  • Evaluates the effect of scope changes on project budgets and schedules, then negotiates with the client to increase fees required to accommodate such scope changes as necessary.
  • Reviews, approves, and provides necessary documentation for invoicing in a timely manner. Maintains client accounts including collection of Accounts Receivable (AR’s).
  • Anticipates problems and works with client, architects/engineers, contractors, field personnel to identify and implement corrective actions.
  • Keeps client informed of the day-to-day activities of the project.

What you need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in Construction Management/architecture/Engineering or related field
  • Louisiana Licensed Architect or Engineer is preferred but not required
  • A broad general commercial project/construction management background and project/program management experience on similar project types; can come from work experience as an architect/engineer, contractor, and/or facilities manager
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. K-12 experience and/or healthcare is a plus but not required.
  • Project Management and/or Estimator experience in commercial construction projects, or experience in overseeing/managing facilities, are important
