Midnight Shift (11pm to 7am)

We are currently seeking a Midnight shift Security Officer.

Responsibilities

A Toledo Zoo Security Officer will effectively carry out safety and security policies that provide for the protection of guests, employees, contractors, vendors, animal collection, and Zoo assets. Duties will include but are not limited to monitoring and reporting the following: air, water, cooler/freezer temperatures, life support systems, intrusion system and detection, fire suppression and life safety system, security surveillance, access control, campus unlocks, lock-ups, respond to calls for service, including emergency response, conduct foot, bike, and mobile patrols, report writing, vehicle/guest escorts, special event detail, and guest engagement.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be able to work independently and in a team setting.
• Must possess strong communication and exceptional customer service skills.
• Bike patrol, mobile patrol, and dispatch opportunities.
• Candidates with criminal justice, fire science, and military background are preferred.
• Available to work weekends, holidays, and special events.
• Candidates must be physically able to walk for extended periods
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• The Toledo Zoo is a drug-free workplace, including marijuana.
