ASSEMBLER

Stabilus is a global leader in the production of gas springs and dampers on five continents. This position will be located at Ace Controls, a Stabilus company, a leader in the field of industrial damping technology. The company’s portfolio includes automation, control, motion control, vibration control and safety products We are seeking Assemblers to join our Team. This role has the responsibility and authority for performing repetitive assembly operations to produce quality industrial shock absorbers by performing the following duties.

Ace Controls is a great place to work! We are conveniently located in Farmington Hills close to several major expressways. Our facility is climate controlled and safety is a top priority. We are looking for long-term employees and offer hands-on training. We have open positions on both of our shifts. 1st shift runs from 6:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and our 2nd shift runs from 2:30 p.m. – 12:00 p.m. There are opportunities for overtime during the week and on Saturdays.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Take direction and/or work assignments from Senior Group Leader or other manufacturing managers.
  • Places parts in specified relationship to each other by following the assembly process sheets, work instructions, blueprints, or previous training, and to make no changes without approval.
  • Bolts, clips, screws, or otherwise fastens parts together.
  • Works at different workstations as production needs require.
  • Keep all work areas clean and free of obstructions.
  • Responsible for quality assembly of all products required.
  • Participates in quality circles in the area of responsibility to help make ACE products better, cheaper, easier and faster to produce.
  • Required to work with hand operated assembly tooling, fixtures and machine operated testing and assembly equipment.
  • Responsible for all personal tools and assembly equipment.
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate and neat records for such things as Inventory Sheets, Production Reporting, Time Sheets, Product Completion Tickets and Reject Reports.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak English effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
