Proper Hospitality is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor at Montauk Yacht Club, a 107-room luxury property set to debut within The Collective. Spanning 35 acres on Montauk’s Star Island, Montauk Yacht Club offers waterfront views, a private beach, three pools, multiple dining options and over 200 wet slips that can accommodate boats from small day cruisers to 300-foot superyachts. As a Housekeeping Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the cleanliness, comfort and aesthetic appeal of our property. You will lead a team of housekeeping colleagues, overseeing their daily tasks and ensuring that our high standards of cleanliness and presentation are consistently met. Our ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong leadership abilities and a passion for delivering unparalleled hospitality to our guests.- Supervise and coordinate the activities of the housekeeping colleagues, including room attendants and laundry attendants
- Assign tasks and responsibilities to housekeeping team members, ensuring that all areas of the hotel are cleaned and maintained according to established standards
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house areas to ensure cleanliness, orderliness and compliance with hotel standards
- Train new housekeeping staff members on proper cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and hotel policies
- Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and linens, and coordinate with the housekeeping manager to place orders as needed
- Handle guest requests and complaints related to housekeeping services promptly and professionally, striving to exceed guest expectations at all times
- Collaborate with other departments, such as Front Office and Engineering, to ensure seamless communication and coordination of housekeeping activities
- Maintain a safe working environment for housekeeping staff by enforcing safety procedures and conducting regular training on proper lifting techniques, chemical handling and equipment usage
- Previous experience in a housekeeping supervisory role, preferably in a luxury hotel environment
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team
- Excellent organizational abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks and delegate responsibilities effectively
- Attention to detail and a commitment to upholding high standards of cleanliness and presentation
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment and chemical handling procedures
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
- Proficiency in basic computer skills, including email and Microsoft Office applications
