Wesley Glen Ministries is now hiring for an experienced Program Coordinator for our Macon Georgia location. Wesley Glen Ministries supports adults with intellectual-developmental disabilities, offering a nurturing, supportive environment for those we serve.

Job Summary: The Program Coordinator at Wesley Glen Ministries, Inc. is a supervisory level position, operating under the general supervision of the Director of Residential Services. This individual will be responsible for oversight and management of the home budget and daily operations of the group homes. Creating and coordinating work schedules and shift coverage for group homes managed. Supervising the Residential Advocate (RA) and Direct Support Professionals (DSP), including serving as Residential Advocate (RA) when necessary. Observation and documentation of individuals’ behaviors and medical conditions. Training and assisting people with daily living skills, social skills and emergency skills including any ongoing training processes. Ensuring the homes maintain a clean and healthy living environment. Ability to respond and effectively manage emergencies and crisis and uphold the mission and values of Wesley Glen Ministries. Appropriately oversee confidential information. Ability to uphold important policy and procedures of the Organization.

Job Requirements: Works within a team related environment the ability to relate sensitively and warmly to people with intellectual developmental disabilities. Demonstrates emotional maturity and stability. Ability to communicate effectively with good verbal and written communication skills, and basic computer literacy. Evidence of excellent human relations skills that warrant managing the health and wellbeing of others. Ability to work varied work schedules and assist with obtaining shift coverage. Ability to pass a satisfactory criminal background check, a pre-employment physical, drug screen and MVR. Physical stamina and ability to lift 45 pounds. Must have reliable transportation.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains Individuals’ Health, Wellbeing and Safety
  • Observes and examines for potential medical, mental, and behavioral problems.
  • Reports any problems found to Director of Residential Services.
  • Manages behavioral episodes appropriately, according to rules and regulations.
  • Monitors THERAP for required documentation and daily notes.
  • Records all medical tracking required by ISP.
  • Records all behavioral incidents and all accidents on proper forms as required by ISP or BSP.
  • Provides oversight of self-administration of medications, which occur during shift and documents on medication log sheets.
  • Maintains knowledge of current medications, their purpose and identifies side effects.
  • Manages Health Appointments.
  • Completes semi-annual checks on individuals prescribed medications.
  • Manages the programs activities which involve the scope with the organization’s missions.
  • Manages subordinate in a way which delivers the authority to supervise Residential Advocates together with the Director of Residential Services.
  • Maintains good relationships with the employees and communicates with the Leaders within the organization to collaborate with the projects as well as evaluate programs.
  • Resolves issues that may arise among team members and strategic issues that may need the attention of senior managers.
  • Identifies opportunities that are worth channeling team efforts to help in the achievement of a series of projects.
  • Trains Individuals on daily living skills according to ISP and Skill Level
  • Assists and/or train individuals in skills of home maintenance, cooking skills, and grocery shopping and money management.
  • Supervises and/ or train individuals in appropriate behavior in community activities, table manner and social situations.
  • Integrates into community activities.
  • Attends Residential Activities to provide support and encouragement.
  • Participates in extracurricular activities such as sports, field trips, camps, picnic, etc. Some activities require adjusting work schedules.
  • Attends in-service trainings and staff meetings
  • Keeps CPR/ First Aid certification current.
  • Completes 16 hours of continuing training per year per Healthcare Facility regulations.
  • Attends any required in-service training.
  • Conducts team meetings.
  • Conducts scheduled meetings with Residential Advocates.
  • Meets with supervisors for evaluations.
  • Serves as a member of the Inter-Disciplinary Team
  • Attends Pre-ISP Meetings.
  • Ensures development of individual’s outcomes for ISP, by determining needs, strengths, and weaknesses.
  • Conducts training outcomes per individual ISP and document in individual’s file.
  • Provides constructive feedback and appropriate role modeling for individuals in areas such as appearance, relationships, language, social skills, and daily activities.
  • Discusses individual’s needs with other staff, communicates information to family members and other agencies as appropriate.
  • Communicates regularly with the other shifts to facilitate continuity of care of individuals.
  • Observes and follows group home and agency policies
  • Works flexible schedule to include coming in other than scheduled hours.
  • Works in any of operative sites as requested.
  • Plans scheduled activities for individuals. Offer input into activities.
  • Manage money for homes and monitor personal spending of individuals.
  • Obtains all receipts and supporting documentation for all individuals’ expenditures.
  • Ensure the safety of individuals by consistently monitoring for hazards.
  • Ensures home maintenance, safety, and sanitation are compliant for CQL/ State inspections.
  • Assists with transport of individuals to all activities, doctor, and dental appointments
  • Reviews vehicle milage logs to ensure they are current.
  • Ensures vehicles are used strictly for business relating to individual’s needs.
  • Reports any needed vehicle repairs to Director of Facilities.
  • Reports any traffic violations to Director of Human Resources.
  • Advises supervisor immediately of any accidents and completes the required documentation.
  • Responsible for other duties as assigned by the Director of Residential Services
  • Participates in required staff meetings.
  • In absence of other staff, you will be required to assume additional duties.
  • Random drug testing can be performed without individualized suspicion of a violation of company’s substance abuse policy. Selection is made by neutral criteria so that all employees eligible for testing have an equal opportunity of being evaluated.
  • Presents a positive image of individuals, home, and WGM to the public.
  • Demonstrates responsibility for other duties as assigned including Residential Advocate tasks.
